On July 21, at 15:33, the Rescue Service "101" received a message about the fire of wheat on the field of private farming in the village. Wheat crops on an area of 3.5 hectares caught fire.
Upon arrival at the call point of the rescue department of the 21st State Fire and Rescue Unit, it was found that fire covered wheat on a stem on an area of 3.5 hectares. In order to prevent further spread of the flame, the place of fire was compressed and plowed using a tractor with a plow.
Thanks to the joint efforts of rescuers and a voluntary fire brigade of the PSP "Rodina" p. Rastavitsa at 16:20 the fire was eliminated. Fire destroyed 3.5 hectares of wheat crops.
As it became known later, the fire occurred during the harvest due to a technical malfunction in the combine and spread to wheat. All circumstances of the emergency are being clarified.
On the example of this fire, rescuers note the need for daily cleaning of engines and units from dust and dirt. After all, crop residues are collected at the exhaust pipe of the combine, a spark may form and the grain will catch fire.
It is very important to check for leaks of fuel and oils, to clean engines and aggregates from dust and dirt, in general to keep equipment clean and in good condition, and to provide the primary means of fire extinguishing both equipment and the place of collection of new crop products.
