Experts predict that in 1-2 weeks a sharp decline in food prices will take place in Ukrainian markets. Vegetables of the “borsch set”, as well as berries and fruits, will become cheaper.

Now the market is saturated with products, therefore, in one to two weeks prices will steadily go down. Such a seasonal berry like strawberries is currently sold in retail at a price of 70-80 UAH / kg.

With the expected reduction in the wholesale price to 25-30 UAH / kg, the retail price will fall to 40-45 UAH / kg, commented the Executive Director of the Economic Discussion Club Oleg Penzin.

He noted that the same situation is observed in relation to sweet cherries, since it starts from the Kherson region, Zaporozhye and Melitopol. Soon the price of berries will become lower and more affordable.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian strawberry producers are actively exporting their products. At the same time, the greatest demand for it comes from consumers in Belarus, which this year buys Ukrainian berries not only for re-export to Russia, but also for their own needs.

It is noteworthy that in the Republic of Belarus, strawberries grown in Ukraine cost almost 2 times more than in their own country. Its price in Belarus is $ 2.5-3.0 / kg.
