Routine inspection and laboratory analyzes based on samples taken from the cattle biomaterial of one of the cattle-breeding sites of Iki-Burulsky district (Kalmykia) showed that at least twenty-five cows from the indicated agricultural facility were infected with brucellosis.
Such information was shared with the public by employees of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
It is reported that all twenty-five cows infected with the brucellosis virus belong to an entrepreneur who owns a large agricultural cooperative called Chograisky.
It is important to add that a total of one hundred sixty-eight samples of biomaterial of the same number of cows were taken from the territory of this farm. Laboratory studies of blood serum have led veterinary officers to believe that two and a half dozen cows are victims and carriers of a dangerous zoonotic infection.
It will not be amiss to recall that brucellosis is also dangerous for humans - when infected with this virus in the human body, many internal organs are damaged, body temperature rises, general weakness sets in, pathologies of the joints, heart, genitourinary, digestive, respiratory and other systems develop.
Despite the fact that brucellosis rarely leads to death of people (in the case of surgical care), the disease causes a lot of problems and trouble. It also causes tremendous damage to health. At the moment, all specimens of cattle from the cooperative "Chograisky" are in quarantine conditions. Brucellosis-carrying cows were sent to slaughter as part of a specially equipped site.
