The company, located in the village of Strointsy, Vinnytsia region, has many years of experience in growing fruits and berries and offers the market high-quality products. Recently, the farm has relied on super-intensive berry growing and new varieties.
The Obry company was founded in 2003, when, in a circle of like-minded people, the idea arose of uniting their shares into a single enterprise aimed at growing fruit and berry products.
This vector was not chosen by chance, because the Stroins were famous in the days of the USSR for their apple orchards. On February 12 of the same year, all the necessary documents were drawn up and a young farm appeared on the agrarian map of Ukraine. At first, gardening had 170 hectares of land, but over 16 years the land bank was able to expand to 620 hectares (120 hectares of perennial seedlings and 500 hectares of arable land).
“We teamed up with like-minded people. The basis of the enterprise includes our land plots, which every villager has, as well as part of the rented units. So together we became co-owners and at the same time founders of the farm, ”says Andrei Bagriy, Director of Obriy.
One of the most successful and crucial decisions in the development of the economy, its director considers the introduction of super-intensive berry growing. In addition to apple orchards, the company has relied on the planting of raspberries, strawberries and blueberries.
They also began to grow cherries. In addition, we took into account market requirements for new, popular varieties of apples.
The planting of young gardens made it possible to be in a trend and find demand for their products both in the domestic and foreign markets.
“2003-2004 were extremely difficult in terms of the development of young gardens. However, despite all the problems, we managed to update the garden with new varieties of apples. And soon time showed that those gardens, due to which we planted young ones, ceased to be effective because of the outdated assortment, ”Andrei Bagriy shares his experience.
