Warm weather with a constant increase in air temperature in the absence of rain in the first decade of April led to the activation of harmful insects.

Pests such as rapeseed flower beetle and rapeseed cryptocephalus wake up, leave wintering places and populate winter rape crops, the State Food and Drug Administration of the Volyn region said in a statement.

According to the results of surveys of winter rapeseed crops in Lutsk, Rozhischensky and Vladimir-Volynsky districts of the Volyn region, foci of settlement were identified by rapeseed crypto-hunter in the amount of 1-3 specimens / plant, rapeseed bee-eater - 1, focal 2 specimens / plant when populated 1- 5% of plants.

Provided that the warm weather persists, the activity of the pest can increase dramatically, which is guaranteed to lead to loss of crop due to damage to plants. Specialists of farms of any form of ownership need to conduct ongoing studies of the condition of rapeseed, especially if the threshold of economic harmfulness is exceeded.

At an air temperature of at least 12 ° C, it is necessary to destroy phytophages by edge or complete treatment of fields with insecticides approved for use, experts conclude.
