Imports from sunny Uzbekistan are ahead of Ukrainian producers. Importers were the first to start selling watermelon at the site of the largest in Western Ukraine wholesale market of ORSP “Shuvar”.
The cost of the first Uzbek watermelon on Shuvar today is 20-22 UAH / kg. Sellers are generally satisfied with the demand.
Yesterday, Info-Shuvar experts reported that Ukrainian farmers began to load the first trucks with watermelon. In the farms of the Kherson region, a watermelon today costs 7-10 UAH / kg.
The first large batches of Ukrainian watermelon are already being sent to the markets of Central and Western Ukraine, and some farmers immediately send commercial volumes of watermelon for export to the Baltic countries.
Earlier it was reported that gourds in the Kherson region suffered bad weather without loss. Some watermelon plantations suffered from hail, but overall, this amount of rainfall affected them well.
Watermelons love water no less than the sun. Experts are much more worried about the long-term forecast of weather forecasters, according to which heavy rains can go in August, and the first frosts will visit the fields in September. It was at this time that a massive harvest of watermelons fell. And their quality can seriously suffer from bad weather.
