The cost of onions grown by Russian farmers in 2018 has significantly decreased in today's market.
Actual prices for this type of product decreased by 10% compared to last week.
Market analysts report that today a kilogram of onion costs the Russian consumer an average of 32 rubles. The lower limit of the price range in different regions of the Russian Federation starts at 25 rubles, and the upper bar does not exceed 38 rubles. For clarity, it should be noted that last week the Russians gave at least 30 rubles per kilogram package of onions. Trade workers note that stringent requirements on the part of wholesale purchasers for the quality of onion crop force them to lower prices for onions.
Onions, the quality of which leaves much to be desired as a result of long storage in vegetable storages, wholesalers refuse to purchase. An important factor in the impact on reduced prices for onions is that the import of a new crop of foreign onions is gaining momentum. So, a kilo of high quality Kazakh onions today can be bought on average for 45 rubles. Russians offer Egyptian onions at an average price of 51 rubles per kilogram.
