In Spain, durum wheat prices continue to rise, while the value of other cereals is declining.
Wheat. The price of this cereal last week fell slightly - by 0.15 euros, reaching 204.88 euros per ton. In February, there was a decrease of 1.41% - from 207.82 euros per tonne to 206.41. Compared to January 2019, wheat prices increased by 1.41% - from 202.03 euros to the current 204.88.
Spain is in the top 100 countries for wheat production, ranking 21st in the global ranking. The closest "neighbors" of Spain in this list are Brazil and Uzbekistan.
Corn. Corn prices are relatively stable. Compared to the previous week, the cost of this cereal increased by only 0.05 euros - up to 185.89 euros. In February, the reduction in the price of cereals amounted to 0.15 euros from the original 186.17. Thus, the cost of corn for the month as a whole has not changed. According to ASSOE, in comparison with January 2019, the price of cereals increased by 2.28%. At the beginning of last year, a ton of corn cost 181.74 euros. Barley
A weekly decline in prices was 0.41 euros. Now a ton of barley costs 182.97 euros. In February, the cost was 185.53 euros, in January 2019 - 191.76. The fall was 1.58%. During the year, the price of barley fell by 4.58%. Durum wheat. The dynamics of prices for this grain crop became an exception. Over the past week, the price of durum wheat increased by 0.5 euros to 260.5 euros per tonne, i.e. 1.83% for February 2020. During the year, wheat went up by almost 5 euros per ton (27%) - from 255.83 to 204.50 euros.
