Prices for early apples in Ukraine began to decline gradually. According to Info-Shuvar, now at the site of the largest in Western Ukraine wholesale market of ORS “Shuvar” varietal apples, Airlie Geneva are sold at 8–9 UAH / kg (0.26–0.3 Euro / kg). At the beginning of this week, an early apple was sold at 10-11 UAH / kg (0.33-0.36 euro / kg).
Such a reduction in prices is seasonal since more and more products are entering the markets every day. At the same time, the price of apples varies depending on their size.
The largest fruits are sold at 8.5-9 UAH / kg (0.28-0.3 Euro / kg), and traders are ready to give small fruits even at 7.5-8 UAH / kg (0.25-0.26 Euro / kg).
Info-Shuvar project experts note that on average the cost of an early apple is now higher than on the same date last year. In the first half of the second summer month of 2018, the first apples on Shuvar were offered at 6-7 UAH / kg (0.20-0.23 Euro / kg).
It is noteworthy that the current prices for apples are almost identical to the prices at the beginning of the 2017-2018 season, when apples of the new crop were also sold at a price of 9-10 UAH / kg (0.30-0.33 euro / kg).
Earlier it was reported that in the Kherson region, farmers collected a generous harvest of fruits and berries, which amounted to about 9 thousand tons.
