This year's Australian wheat crop suffers from drought in parts of the continent.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Agriculture in Australia are forecasting an increase in wheat production to 21.5 million tons more than the previous year, when there was a drought.
Despite the expansion of sown areas and the abundance of moisture in some regions, drought remains in other areas, which limits the production of wheat upward.
According to experts, cereal consumption in Australia will decrease slightly, since fewer feeds need to be produced than last year. In the 2018-2019 marketing year, a record volume of feed was produced, as the grass on the pastures withered.
In this marketing year, the consumption of wheat for animal feed also depends on the availability of other feeds. Due to the ongoing regional drought, wheat consumption is expected at 5 million tons, which is about 1 million tons more than the usual 4 million tons.
Earlier it was reported that Australian farmers are massively abandoning dairy farming because of its low profitability.
