In Ukrainian fields of sugar beets, there is a massive exit to the soil surface of overwintered beet weevils - common and gray, according to the Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Kiev region on its website.

With an increase in air temperature and the establishment of warm sunny weather, beetles of common beet weevil quickly populate the early seedlings of sugar beets and damage crops.

The gray beet weevil will develop and cause damage primarily to those farms whose fields are littered with weeds where it feeds.

To avoid losses, all sown areas of sugar beets should be carefully monitored.
