During January-March 2019, the Lviv region significantly increased the volume of agricultural production. When compared with the same period last year, it increased by 12%.

Agricultural enterprises increased production by 29.5%, according to the Regional State Administration of the Lviv Region.

Basically, the region is obliged to such an improvement in gross production by increasing the volume of farm animals. So, the number of pigs in the Lviv region has increased by 44.6%, poultry by 14.3%. Milk production increased by 0.4 thousand tons, meat production (live weight) by 6.2 thousand tons.

As of April 1, 2019, the number of pigs was 283.6 thousand heads, which is 25.5% or 57.7 thousand heads higher than the figure for the same date last year.

According to the growth rate of gross production of agricultural products for the period from January to March 2019, the Lviv region is on the 2nd line in the ranking of Ukrainian regions, and in terms of production - on the 7th line.
