Over the past four and a half years, Ukrainian farmers and citizens raising pigs on private farms received UAH 22.6 million in compensation for pigs that were withdrawn as a result of quarantine measures for ASF.

This was reported in the State Service of Ukraine on food safety and consumer protection.

So, the payments received:

• in 2015, private peasant farms - 2.6 million UAH., specialized pig farms - 236 thousand UAH;
• in 2016, private peasant farms - UAH 7.0 million, specialized pig farms - UAH 1.01 million;
• in 2017, private peasant farms - 5.5 million UAH, specialized pig farms - 1.07 million UAH;
• in 2018, private peasant farms - 5.2 million UAH, (specialized pig farms did not receive compensation).
• From January 1 to August 1, 2019, private farms received compensation in the amount of 45.3 thousand UAH. (specialized pig farms did not receive compensation).

In total, private peasant farms received UAH 20.4 million, and specialized pig farms received UAH 2.2 million.

Due to the large-scale outbreak of ASF in the Lviv region, about 100 thousand pigs will be destroyed.
